Elder Newman's last "pre-mission" day

Monday, Aug. 1st was deemed family day so we could spend Jackson's last day together before his mission without distractions.
However, we forgot he still needed his missionary haircut. Dad took Jackson to get his hair cut while the rest of us went to JCW's to order our lunch.  Here he is getting his hair cut, while talking to his friend on the phone, who left a month ago to play MLB.
Sporting his new missionary look at JCW's.
Then we went bowling as a family.

After bowling we went home and got cleaned up for Jackson's setting apart.
Pres. Gleason set Jackson apart a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and gave him a beautiful blessing.
Our family that came to Jackson's setting apart
We had planned to go out to eat for dinner, but after Jackson was set apart, his mood changed and all he wanted was to go back to our quiet house where we could spend time together without distractions before going to bed so we could get up at 2:30 am to get ready to go to the airport.
